The seventh AAP (Applied Antineutrino Physics) workshop will be held in Vienna, Austria, from Thursday September 15 (morning) to Friday September 16 (afternoon) 2015, at the Vienna University conference center.

The Applied Anti-Neutrino Physics workshops (2011 Sendai/Japan, 2009 Angra/Brazil, 2007 Paris/France, 2006 Livermore/California, 2005 & 2004 Hawaii) are focused on applications of neutrinos like non-proliferation or geophysics.

As a result of these workshops, several small antineutrino detectors, designed explicitly for reactor monitoring, have been built or are now being realized worldwide.

With an eye to this maturing technology base, IAEA has convened an international Working Group to consider possible applications of antineutrino detectors in current and future safeguards regimes. The Working Group consists of IAEA, National Laboratory and academic participants.

Geo-antineutrino measurements have been published in the last five years by the KamLAND, Borexino, and SNO+ collaborations, and future experiments will improve these results.

The 7th workshop, AAP2011, will be held on September 15-16, 2011 in the Kuppelsaal at the Technical University in Vienna, Austria. The workshop will focus on safeguards applications, remote detection of reactors and geoantineutrino detection, including relevant technology developments.

The choice of Vienna is directly linked to the presence of IAEA headquarters and the IAEA’s newly formed Antineutrino-based Safeguards  Working Group. The Working Group will hold its first meeting at IAEA Headquarters on September 14.

To stay as lively as in the previous editions, we would like to limit the number of invited participants to 60 persons maximum. We kindly ask you to register at your earliest convenience.
